Brilliance in a Box
2010/10/22
Slate online magazine is currently surveying world classrooms, trying to discover how the countries who perform highest academically organize their learning. What they've found is the opposite of what many would expect- the classrooms that get the best results are in many ways the least technologically advanced.
Read the article here.
However, for the purposes of this survery "successful" schools are defined as having a high score on math and science exams. Someone trying to gear their lessons to communication and critical thinking might have different ideas about what makes a good classroom.
Still, it never hurts to look to other countries for ideas. You can also contribute your own ideas and experiences to the Slate survey!
