Teachers Rush to Keep Licenses

Are you feeling the end of year crunch as March approaches? So are many Japanese teachers, rushing to get their required seminar hours in so that they can renew their teaching licenses (a subject we've covered before here at EduCareer). This article from the Daily Yomiuri details a bit of the continuing education process for Japanese teachers.

Fortunately continuing education isn't a requirement for native English teachers, but with pressure on Japanese teachers to increase their English skill via seminars there may be more opportunities arising to get involved in education- this time educating our fellow teachers.
