Japanese Resume Tip: 自己PR

2014/07/25

Educareer recently teamed up with the translation service Pon-Yaku (http://hon-yaku.org/), to be our recommended Japanese-English translation service. It's not always necessary to have your resume translated when submitting to Japanese schools, but it certainly doesn't hurt. There is one portion of a Japanese resume which especially might be a good idea for you to have prepared in Japanese, it's called the "自己PR" or "Self-PR". It's a one paragraph essay for you to summarize all of your best attributes, and is the one paragraph you can count on for an interviewer to read. Often this is what a cover letter is for in English, but having your Self-PR ready, and in Japanese, just might give you the edge on getting that interview. The great thing about our service, Pon-Yaku (http://hon-yaku.org/), is that there is no problem with submitting a single paragraph for translation, it costs less than a large-sized coffee, and you can even get it translated in just 30 minutes!

So if you'd like to make sure you put your best face forward, and want to lower the barrier for a school to learn about you, try having a professional translate your Self-PR. We can recommend Pon-Yaku (http://hon-yaku.org/).

Good luck out there!
