Seeking ​a secondary social studies teacher for the summer or fall of 2025. Although it is only contracted for the second semester, there is a possibility for contract renewal based on performance.

Our school is expanding their International Program with the intent of providing immersion English classes in various subjects - social studies being one on them. This would be a great opportunity to use your specialised background and education in a Japanese school setting.

Contract period: Summer/Fall 2025 - March 31 2026

Sample Annual Salary: 4,500,000yen - 9,000,000yen (before tax) + transportation
Working Days: 5 days week (within Mon to Sat)
Working Hours: 8:10-18:10
*variable-hour work system
Lessons: Up to 20 regular lessons a week
Subjects: Social Studies
Insurance: Social Insurance, employment insurance
Days off: Sunday and one weekday
Holidays: Summer vacation (about 1 week to 10days), Christmas Day, New Year's Holiday, 10 days of Paid Leave
Duties
* Lesson preparation and teaching
* Material and curriculum development
* Making and grading regular and entrance exams
* Proctoring of exams
* After school club
* Attending meetings, school events, and school ceremonies including religious events
* Teaching supplementary lessons
* Preparation for overseas study program
* Homeroom
* Teacher Training
* Other duties related to school education

Qualification Requirements
* Bachelor's degree or higher (preferably a major related to the social sciences)
* Minimum 3 years of RELEVANT teaching experience at secondary school
* Capable of working with the school's curriculum
* Knowledgable about the subject(s) assigned to teach
* Acceptance of a Christian work environment
* Conversational Japanese ability is a plus
