We have a client school in Kita Ward looking for a full time SHS English teacher for their ESL classes. This is a direct hire position, so it would be suitable for those who are seeking mid-long term plan teaching career in Japan. Contract Period/Type: April 1, 2026 - Mar 31, 2027

Contract: Direct hire

Compensation: Annual salary, 3.6million - 4.8million JPY
*according to school's pay scale

Insurance: Private school insurance

Subject: English, ESL level (mainly SHS G1&2)

Workdays: 5 days/week
Days Off: Sundays + 1 designated weekday
Working Hours: 8:15 AM - 6:00 PM  

*May leave at 4:30 PM under certain circumstances
Long Holidays: Summer vacation (may return home) and Winter vacation

 

Job Description:
-Number of Classes: 15-16 periods/week
-General teaching duties: main lead teacher (mainly SHS G1&2) for regular ESL students
-Curriculum and teaching material development
-Creating, grading, and proofreading regular exams
-Correcting and grading English essays
-Attending subject meetings and other school events
-Proctoring exams
-Assistant homeroom teacher duties
-English instruction during school open days
-Chaperoning off-campus activities and field trips
-Speech contest coaching and judging

Candidates must:

-be living in Japan with a valid work visa

-have a bachelor's degree or higher
-have 2 years minimum of relevant teaching experience
-be capable of making and implementing interesting and engaging lessons
-have a good understanding of Japanese culture and school work life
